My name is Olga Panteleeva (she/they).
Some of the identities that inform my work are – queer, agender, AuDHD, complex trauma survivor, immigrant, disabled, and fat.
I come from lineages of Russian and Sakha people.
I live with Long Covid and balance my care work practice with tending to my health needs, and contributing to the local disability and queer communities.
I grew up in Perm, Russia, and have since lived in St. Petersburg, Amsterdam, Berkeley, Princeton, and Ann Arbor. I am currently based in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
My working languages are English and Russian. I speak Dutch but I don’t work in Dutch yet.
I am indebted to countless activists and writers who find the courage to lay bare the systems of oppression and dream up ways of resistance: Stephanie Foo, Andrea Gibson, Tricia Hersey, Gabor Maté, José Esteban Muñoz, Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, Devon Price, Jen Soriano, Kai Cheng Thom, Gloria Wekker, Alice Wong, and many others.
My first career was in academia. After 12 years of graduate education, teaching, and research positions I went back to school to become a clinical social worker. I got my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan, whose School of Social Work is ranked number one in the United States.
